Integration with PIM - Akeneo
Client issues
Intar decided to implement Product Information Management (PIM) for various reasons. Firstly, the company deals with a wide range of products with varying parameters, descriptions, photos, and technical information. Handling this data manually has become challenging and error-prone, leading to inconsistencies in the information provided to customers.
Moreover, Intar caters to both B2B and B2C customers, which makes it necessary to provide different product information for each segment. PIM allowed for effective segmentation and personalization of content, making it easier to provide tailored information to customers.

Tasks and objectives
To successfully integrate the PIM (Akeneo) with the Edito system, we took several specific steps and defined precise technical objectives. These objectives were:
- PIM integration with Edito: Our main objective was to create a coherent communication interface between Akeneo and Edito systems. We had to adapt the API to allow data to be transferred from one system to another in a reliable and efficient manner.
- Product category mapping: We thoroughly mapped product categories between Akeneo and Edito. This included mapping each category to the appropriate segment, both B2B and B2C.
- Collection of product data: The task was to ensure the collection of product data from Akeneo, including descriptions and related products.
- Product segmentation: During the integration phase, we created a product segmentation strategy to automatically assign new products to the appropriate categories depending on their purpose.
- Photo and media synchronization: The integration also included synchronization of product photos and other media to ensure completeness of information on the Edito platform.
- Change management: As part of the integration, we included change management mechanisms, such as product updates, to ensure that customers always have the most up-to-date information.
- Performance monitoring: We have set goals for monitoring integration performance, including data processing time, synchronization errors, and availability of the Edito platform.
- Adapting to future needs: Future planning has been an essential goal for us. To accommodate potential changes in business requirements, we built scalability and flexibility into the integration.
The integration with PIM (Akeneo) was not just a technical process, but a strategy that enabled the client to better manage product data, provide more personalized offers, and effectively serve both B2B and B2C customers.
Thanks to clearly defined goals and technical tasks, Intar was able to successfully achieve these goals, which had a significant impact on the company's market position.
